MAPP vs the Legendary Hockey Heroes

Hockey Heroes

The Municipal Association of Police Personnel (Halifax Regional Police Union) has once again accepted the challenge of the Legendary Hockey Heroes to test their skills as hockey players.  The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge will take place at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Halifax Metro Centre.

Hockey Hall of Famers Borje Salming, Glenn Anderson, Bryan Trottier, Steve Shutt and Billy Smith will join Legendary Hockey Heroes Rick Vaive, Rick Middleton, Bernie Nichols, Dave Ellett, Cliff Ronning, Igor Kravchuk, Gary Leeman, Tony Currie, Jimmy Mann and Gord Gallant. Referee Ron Hoggarth will add to the competitive spirit, fun and antics of the game.

Matt Minglewood will perform, as well as lace up the skates as an Honorary Legend player.

Skaters from the Halifax Skating Club will perform, plus Crazy Claude-the Trumpeteer, the Call to Recycle Tykes, Laser Shows, giveaways and more will add to this exciting event.

The Municipal Association of Police Personnel is proud to be part of the Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge - family fun entertainment that raises money for charity.  A portion of the proceeds from each ticket will go to the Nova Scotia Hearing & Speech Foundation Sound Start Program.

All ticket holders are invited to the Public Pre Game Skate with some of the Legends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Halifax Metro Centre.

Tickets are available at the Halifax Metro Centre Box office at a cost of $20 per person or $60 for a family of four.
